2023 Model, new modular design and USB-C

Zigbee 3.0 Coordinator based on the CC2652P2 module. Supported by Zigbee2mqtt, the ZHA integration in Home Assistant and Tasmota.

Use Ethernet – Ideal for placing your coordinator in a central location. Stable ethernet connection. Eliminates the need for USB Passthrough when using HA in a VM environment.

Use via USB- C- Move 2 jumpers on the board and the zigbee chip will be accessible over the USB, not ethernet needed. Or use another pair of jumpers and connect via USB to the ESP32 for console debugging.

Ordering is flawless. I ordered from the Netherlands. The device is also very stable and intergrates perfectly with Zigbee2MQTT.

Q & A

Does this product support beeing used as a Thread and Zigbee router like the SkyConnect, since the cc2652p is thread capable? Sven asked on January 11, 2024

The TI SDK does not offer a path to multi pan networks like Silicon Labs currently offers. So no the cc2652 can only run zigbee or thread, not both. (Technically the skyconnect just runs a "dumb" radio that sends all data to a host application CPCd to direct the traffic to either OpenThread or Zigbeed (which is a EZSP NCP running on the host). CPCd also then forwards the data from Zigbeed and OpenThread back to the radio (rcp) to send out.

There was a relatively recent addition to the main OpenThread project which added Multi Pan to it (previously it was only available in Silabs released versions of OpenThread), I'm not certain if this will work with all radios now or if the OpenThread Examples for the different radios need updates. I'll try to explore again in the next few months. Previous attempts using in progress PR pulls did not work but this was at least 6months if not longer.

Thread does not require a radio to work with HA and Matter, if you have other devices that work as thread boarder routers on your network HA can use those.

When are you actually going to be stocking these again? do you have any distribution outside of america? Andrew asked on December 10, 2023

A few should be in stock now and will be routinely added. I am a sole proprietor, I make the products in house, and do all the shipping myself.

How do I migrate from a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus-E coordinator to using this product? Will I have to repair all devices? Tony asked on December 4, 2023

If using ZHA, you can just go through the coordinator migration flow.
